American Speed Association Greets Grimes On Midwest Tour
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (March 5, 2007) – The American Speed Association Kwik Trip
Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment has signed 40-year-old
Chris Grimes of Pulaski, WI as a championship contender for the inaugural 2007
season.
“I think the Tour will advance all drivers involved. They will give more
exposure to all teams and be an all around great series to be in,” Chris
commented.
Grimes has been racing for twelve years. He considers the Wisconsin
International Raceway (Kaukauna, WI) his home track but competed regularly in
the former Midwest All-Star Racing Series where he finished in the top ten in
point standings in multiple seasons. He has five wins at WIR, five at Norway
Speedway (MI), and two at I-94 Raceway (Sauk Centre, MN).
“Since MARS ended there hasn’t been a good traveling series. I think there
are very good drivers and teams involved in the Tour,” Chris stated.
When asked which race he was most looking forward to, Grimes grinned and said,
“All of them!”
Outside of racing, Chris is self-employed. He enjoys anything that goes fast,
particularly snowmobiling and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His
family is made up of his wife Renee and their six children: Marshall, Robert,
Ashley, Heather, Michelle, and CJ.
Grimes will be making his debut at the ASA Midwest Tour inaugural season
opener at Elko Speedway April 28, 2007. More information about Chris Grimes is
available by calling (920) 661-0840 EXT. 15.
“Chris is a hard charger, a very clean racer, and he has earned a lot of
respect from other drivers and crew members. He is always willing to help out
another competitor no matter the situation and is always the first to lend a
helping hand. It will be great to see Chris and his family (who make up his
entire crew) back in action with the Midwest Tour,” stated series President
Tim Olson.
