ABC Raceway To Attempt Opener Again On Saturday
by Nick Gima

Ashland, WI, May 21 -- After miserable conditions thwarted attempts to open the 2005 racing season at all three area race tracks last weekend, the ABC Raceway will try again this Saturday to start its season.

Track officials have prepared the track to its best early-season condition in years, and they will make every effort to get the program in.

"Fans, drivers and our track work staff are all anxious to get the season going here," said track president Kurt Beeksma recently. "A lot of work has been done and a lot of hours have been put in. Now we just need the weather to cooperate."

Hot laps will begin for the Budweiser-sponsored event at 6:30 pm, while the first green flag is set to drop at 7.

"Racenight Live" will air from 5-6:30 pm Saturday on WJJH, 96.7 & 102.3 FM, with raceday news and weather updates. The ABC Raceway is located three miles south of Ashland on Highway 13, then one mile west on Butterworth Road. For more information, visit the track website at www.abcraceway.com or call (715) 682-4990 for raceday information.
