(KAUKAUNA, WI) - A race car simulator, G-Force merry-go-round, Karaoke, and driver collector cards, a
"starter" (flagman) contest and driver autographs are just icing on the cake for kids and kids-at-heart
during Oneida Bingo & Casino's Rev It Up Weekend, June 6 - 9 at Wisconsin International Raceway. It's four
great days of racing action, but Rev It Up Weekend promises so much more.
The Whirlybird is a self-propelled G-Force merry-go-round controlled by it's passengers. On-site at WIR
only during Rev It Up Weekend, race fans will find it hard to resist the allure of the Whirlybird G-Force.
In the same vein, A Simulator Ride will be running all weekend long providing the "hold-on-to-your-hat"
excitement of "swear-you-were-there" simulation. The Simulator Ride seats 12 passengers and synchronizes
film, sound, motion and wind into land, sea and air adventures, including the life-like action of car
racing, air travel, roller coaster rides, even bobsledding.
Thursday, June 6 is kids night. Children 15 and under are admitted free during Oneida Bingo & Casino's
Thursday Night Thunder. This race features the Fox River Racing Club and will include popular local
drivers along with some of racing's biggest names, including Scott Hansen, and Tim Rothe.
Friday, June 7, NASCAR drivers, including Steve Carlson and Brian Hoppe, will be available for autographs
in the Karaoke tent following the Oneida Bingo & Casino NASCAR Re/MAX Challenge Series 250. The Rev It Up
Weekend Souvenir Magazine includes space for driver autographs. Karaoke will run from 10 - midnight with no
extra admission charged.
There will be a Kids starter contest Saturday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m. directed by professional racing's most
colorful starter, Tom Powell of Rockford, IL. Powell spent 17 years with the Rockford Speedway. He was
also a starter for the Artgo Challenge series and the NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series. Powell is now in his
third season as the American Speed Association (ASA) starter. Kids 12 and under will be invited trackside
for a "starter orientation" where they'll learn the meaning behind the various flags. After the lesson,
there will be a "starter contest" where the kids will follow the moves made by Powell. A panel of judges
will whittle the contestant field down to five finalists. The winner will be determined by fan
applause. That boy or girl will be the official "starter" for the Junior Motorsports 15 lap feature and
will be directed during the race by Tom Powell.
Sunday, June 9 ASA drivers will be handing out collector autograph cards from 11:00 a.m. to Noon. Race
fans are invited down to the track for a meet and greet with their favorite drivers before the Oneida
Bingo & Casino ASA 300 at 1:00p.m.
