Paul Pokorski, West Bend, weaved his way through traffic to make his way to victory lane in the EWSC Winged Super Modified 30 lap A-Main at Manitowoc Expo. A progressive format was followed since there was no qualifying. The night of racing was sponsored by Joe's Diner, Manitowoc.

At the drop of the green flag, Whitelaw's Chuck Tuschl and Tony Wondra, West Bend got together causing both to flip in turn 1, bringing out the red flag. The field was restarted from the top and when the green dropped again, Oostburg's Brian Portschy took the lead. On lap 2, the ride of Donny Goeden, Kewauskum, (driving for Matt VanWyk), stopped in turn 2. On the restart it was Portschy, Manitowoc's Kris Hansen, Billy Hafemann, Cedar Grove, Plymouth's Tim Melis, and Pokorski.

On lap 4, the car of Dave Deicher, Plymouth, stalled in turn 2 bringing out the caution. The field was reset with Melis and Hafemann swapping positions.

By lap 12, Portschy encountered lapped traffic and while trying to maneuver through it, Pokorski was closing in. On lap 14, Pokorski took control of the race only to be slowed down on lap 19 for debris on the track. The restart saw Pokorski leading the way in front of Kiel's Billy Kreutz, Melis, Hansen, and Portschy.

With Melis and Kreutz battling it out, Pokorski had a straight away lead, until lapped traffic became a factor. While Pokorski was weaving his way around traffic, Kreutz and Melis were closing in. Pokorski crossed the finish line ahead of Melis, Kreutz, Portschy, and Glenbeulah's Gary Laack.

The Tuschl Septic System's Hard Charger award was earned by Laack for passing 11 cars.

The Winged Super Modified 15 lap B-Main went green to checkers. Wondra took the early lead until Goeden took control on lap 2. By lap 5, Goeden encountered lapped traffic and worked his was through it to take home the checkered flag. He was followed across the line by Wondra, Deicher, Laack, and Barry Maas, Cascade.

The 25 lap Limited Late Model feature also had an altercation in turn 1 on the drop of the green flag. The cars of Cedar Grove's Charlie Schmidt, Waldo's Don Singer, Dan Dippel, Scott Haugstad, and Brian Kessler, all of Plymouth, and Glenbeulah's Howie Weiss got tangled together. When the green flag was waved again, Terry Goetsch, Sheboygan, took the lead.

The yellow came out on lap 1 for the car of Sheboygan's Dave Herr hitting the guard rail in turn 4. The restart saw Goetsch, Dave Schaetzer, Sheboygan Falls, Kewaskum's Chad Espen, Larry Berg, Sheboygan, and Todd Jensema, Sheboygan Falls leading the pack.

By lap 9, Oostburg's JJ Walvoord was knocking on the door of Goetsch. The field was slowed for debris on the track on lap 11. Goetsch paced the field until lap 15 when Walvoord took the reins. Weaving his way around lapped traffic, Walvoord crossed the line ahead of Jim Schmidt, Cleveland, Kohler's Mark Zimmermann, Espen, and Goetsch.

Walvoord was crowned the Bob Akright Memorial Hard Charger for the feature race by passing 11 cars. The 20 lap Super Stock feature saw Jim Bailey, Oostburg, take the win in a flag to flag race. Chasing Bailey to the finish was Elkhart Lake's John Dirks, Don Kulow and Brian Gilles, both of Plymouth, and Sheboygan's Brian Goetsch. The Hard Charger award went to Mike TeStroete, Sheboygan for passing 6 cars.

The 15 lap Super Stock semi-feature saw Chad Ninmer of Sheboygan get turned around on the start in turn 1. The flagman threw the green again, only to put the yellow out again for a bad start by the front row. On the third start of the race, Cleveland's Steve Schad took the lead and by lap 9 he came up on lapped traffic. Schad didn't look back and crossed the line in front of Paul Perronne, Plymouth, Hingham's Terry McCoy, Adam/Cory Brasser, Plymouth, and Sheboygan's Mike/Dale Damrow.

Joe Miller/Tyler Elias of Plymouth took the early lead in the 15 lap All-American Mighty 4's race until Sheboygan Falls Jeremy Sauter took over. The race was slowed down for debris on the track on lap 12. The restart saw J. Sauter, Tim Sauter, Plymouth, Howards Grove's Randy Ostermann, Jr., Brian Voss, and Duane Dippel of Plymouth. J. Sauter took home the checkered flag followed by T. Sauter, Ostermann, Voss, and Dippel.

On Friday, June 14, the ESWC Limited Late Models will be racing at the Calumet County Fair Park in Chilton. And on Saturday, June 15, the World of Outlaw Gumout Series will be coming to the Sheboygan County Fair Park in Plymouth. The EWSC Super Stocks will be racing also.

A complete EWSC racing program will resume on Saturday, June 22, with the MSA 360 sprint cars. There will be no qualifying and racing will begin at 6:00 pm.
