Plymouth, WI - New track records were set during qualifying in the Limited Late Models and the Super Stocks. Charlie Schmidt of Cedar Grove set the LLM record at 15.581 seconds, while Plymouth's Brian Kaat set the Super Stocks at 17.219 seconds.

The Winged Super Modified 25 lap A-Main saw many cautions. The first caution came out on the first lap when the rides of Frank Geiger, Whitelaw, and Sheboygan Falls Matt VanWyk got together in turn 3. After getting everyone back in their starting positions, pole sitter KenJay Fiedler, Sheboygan Falls, took control. Plymouth's Tim McMullen took over the reins on lap 2.

The car piloted by Paul Pokorski, West Bend, came to a halt in turn 4 bringing out the second caution of the race on lap 5. The restart saw McMullen set the pace for two more laps until Cascade's Barry Maas lost control of his car, spinning in turn 2, bringing out yet another caution. After getting the field lined up, McMullen would lead Leroy Ostrowski, Milwaukee, West Bend's Tony Wondra, Fiedler, and Brian Portschy of Oostburg across the line.

The cars would be slowed down once again on lap 9 when Plymouth's Dave Deicher and Butch Hafemann of Campbellsport got tangled together in turn 1.

After getting back under way, 2 more circuits would be made until the yellow flew again for the car of Whitelaw's Chuck Tuschl spinning in turn 4. The restart now saw McMullen still holding on to the lead being chased by Wondra, Ostrowski, Portschy, and Gary Laack, Glenbeulah.

On the restart, the final yellow was brought out by Maas, spinning in turn 2. With the time limit now being reached the race would go green, white, checkered. McMullen held on to the top spot followed by Ostrowski, Wondra, Laack, and Portschy.

The 15-lap B-Main saw Campbellsport's Robert Enders take the early lead only to catch lapped traffic by lap 3. On lap 4, the caution was brought out for the cars of Chad Kistner, New Holstein, and Campbellsport's Dennis Wondra getting together. Enders set the pace only to be slowed down on lap 5 for the stopped car of Keith Anderson, Sheboygan. After one more lap, the cars of Dave Becker, Greenbush, West Allis' Robert Lublow, and Lee Mohs, Waldo brought out the last caution of the race. Once again, with the time limit now being reached, the race would go green, white, checkered. Enders and Pokorski would duke it out on the last lap with Enders crossing the line slightly ahead of Pokorski, Geiger, Hafemann, and Wondra.

Fast time was set by Kiel's Billy Kreutz with a lap of 13.515 seconds.

The 25-lap Limited Late Model feature also saw many cautions. Kohler's Mark Zimmermann took the lead and was slowed on lap 1 when Don Singer, Waldo, turned his car around in turn 4. Lap 2 saw another caution for Sheboygan's Larry Berg spinning in turn 3. Zimmerman took the green flag and led until lap 4 when Scott Haugstad, Plymouth, took over control. Lapped traffic came into the picture on lap 15.

The field was slowed on lap 17 for the car of Singer caught up on an infield tire. Haugstad would lead Richard Hed, Sheboygan Falls, Oostburg's charging JJ Walvoord, Dan Dippel, Plymouth and Oostburg's Nate Winkel to the line. Walvoord, coming from the 14th starting position, would pass Haugstad for the lead on lap 17. Debris on the track on lap 20 brought out the caution. Walvoord paced the race for one more lap. That's when the cars of Singer, Winkel, Brian Kessler, Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls John Scharenbroch, and Rick Thompson got together on the front stretch bringing out the final caution of the race. As we saw in the Mod. races, the time limit was now exceeded and the race would go green, white, checkered. Walvoord crossed the line in front of Dippel, Haugstad, Zimmermann, and Todd Jensema, Sheboygan Falls.

The 15 lap LLM semi-feature saw Plymouth's Matt Buckman took the lead until lap 3 when Matt Yancey, Sheboygan Falls took over. Yancey would relinquish the lead to Fredonia's Jason Allen on lap 4. Allen encountered lapped traffic on lap 10 and went the rest of the distance to claim the victory. Crossing behind Allen was Jim Schmidt, Cleveland, Sheboygan's Steve Ziegelbauer, Yancey, and Buckman.

The 20 lap Super Stock feature was also marred by many cautions. Mark Scholten, Oostburg, took the lead until lap 9 when the yellow came out for debris on the track. After getting the track cleared, Scholten led until Plymouth's Brian Kaat took control on lap 12 and by lap 14 was encountering lapped traffic. The second caution of the race came when the ride of Kiel's Jeremy Bushman spun in turn 2. Newton's Mike Plate took control and was slowed down for the cars of Bushman, Brian Genske, Sheboygan Falls, Oostburg's Luke Scholten and Jim Bailey, Oostburg getting together. Plate paced the action until lap 17 only to be slowed down for the spinning car of Sheboygan's Chad Ninmer. The restart saw Plate, Doug Teunissen, Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth's Brian Gilles, Mark Scholten, and Kaat. Gilles took control on lap 19 crossing the finish line in front of Plate, Teunissen, Kaat, and M. Scholten.

The 15 lap Super Stock semi-feature didn't get too many laps in because of many cautions. Every restart saw a caution and before there was even a lap in, the time limit had been reached. The race then went green, white, checkered and they managed to get those laps in with Plymouth's Paul Perronne taking home the victory in front of cars sliding across the finish line. Finishing behind Perronne was Tony Miller, Random Lake, Kewaskum's Dave Holm, Steve Schad, Cleveland, and Kiel's Dean Horneck.

Plymouth's Joe Miller took the early lead in the 15 lap All-American Mighty 4's until lap 6 when Jeremy Sauter, Sheboygan Falls, stalled on the front stretch, and the leader, not seeing him, plowed in the back of Sauter. The lead was handed over to Jamie Gauger until lap 7 when Plymouth's Tim Sauter took control. Once again, Jeremy Sauter had mechanical problems with his car stopping on the front stretch bringing out the yellow flag. Tim Sauter finished the race ahead of Duane Dippel, Plymouth, Howard Grove's Randy Ostermann, Jr., Brian Voss, and Gauger.

The Limited Late Models will be racing a points show next Friday night in Chilton. Racing begins at 7:00 pm.

Mark your calendars, next Saturday night, June 8, EWSC will take the entire show to the Manitowoc Expo. This will be progressive racing. Pit gate open at 3:00, grandstands at 6:00 pm with racing to start at 7:00 pm. If it rains on Saturday, the rain date is Sunday, June 9.
