Season Ending Race Report: For the final Johnsonville Sausage Formula 4x4 races at Crandon Raceway over Labor Day Weekend, a huge field of 18 trucks took to the line for "World Championship Saturday". Winner of the race would earn the title of "2002 Formula 4x4 World Champion". Jerry Bundy, Tolland, CT, took the win in his Jeep and the Crandon World Championship ring for 2002. He will reign as F4x4 World Champion until the 2003 World Championships. In Sunday action, which was the final of four rounds of racing for the all-new Johnsonville Sausage Series Championship, John McCrossan took the win in a Ford, followed by Bundy. Bundy claimed the first ever F4x4 Series Championship. Bundy also finished 11th in the 2002 BorgWarner Shootout. Leading money winners for the four race Johnsonville Formula 4x4 Series at Crandon this past year were:

Formula 4x4 was one of the largest fields of the year at Crandon. At the World Championships, 18 trucks entered Saturday's race, while 20 entered Sunday's race, with five scratches. Largest field of the weekend was 30 race vehicles entered in the Schaefer Food Mart Classix World Championship Race. There were two scratches and 28 racers took the green flag!
