Saturday night at the 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, WI. all the rules were pushed aside for the drivers, their cars and the packed to capacity crowd as the Mayhem Night of Thrills and Spills got underway. The night included 2 Monster Trucks, An Aerial display by the Powercom Park Moto-Cross riders, A school bus race and many other races in which you would not see on a regular basis. Now as I write this, I am still feeling the effects of being driven into a car head on during the steel wall crash and we'll start there.

141 Track Owner, Matt Rowe, does not get to drive on his track much, but when he does, it is not in any normal race situation. Take Saturday night for example. Rowe, along with myself, Dan Deicher, and Track Scorer Nicole Nessler, all went for a leisurley ride in a Lincoln Continental, which broke a drive shaft, and then went onto driving in another monsterous car that your mom and dad owned in the 70's. The Steel wall crash pits the car being driven by Rowe into another Lincoln which is standing on it's back bumper. At speeds of around 65 miles an hour, the car hits so nicely that it cleared our vehicle and sent parts flying 30 to 40 feet in the air. We all survived the steel wall crash and the fans loved it. Now onto the night's racing.

After a display of just pure brute force, the monster trucks, Godzilla, 1 2002 Ford F-150 driven by Green Bay's Steve Hearley and Frightmare, a Jeep CJ-12 driven by his wife, Sherry, came onto the track and did what they do best....smashed several cars and vans. To the crowds delight, Godzilla also did a couple of freestyle moves off of a dirt mound. Both trucks came out once more later in the night and again...smashed more cars. Note......Sherry Hearley is one of only 7 other female monster truck drivers in the nation.

Here's the feature winners of the some what normal night of racing.
