Beyer Gets The Win At 141 April Enduro

Blustery winds and cool temperatures didn’t chill the spirits of the enthusiastic crowd of fans on hand for the annual 141 Speedway Tisler Salvage "April Fools" enduro race on Saturday in Francis Creek.

Edward Day led the field of nearly ninety cars to the green flag and led the first couple of laps. He was overtaken quickly by track champ David Beyer of Manitowoc driving a Chevrolet.

Beyer would dominate the entire race with the only viable challenge coming from second place finisher Terry Kust who finished one lap down from the leader but battled for the duration in an attempt to pass him and try to get the lap back.

Try as he might, Kust’s Ford was just not up to the challenge. He did hold off A charging Jason Czarapata of Pulaski who made a late race surge and finished only 5 seconds behind Kust for third.

Day and New’s Years day winner Todd Welsing were not so fortunate succumbing early on to mechanical difficulties but, other than a scary crash into the turn two wall by Kathy Ware who was bruised and shaken but otherwise alright, the entire three hundred lap race was basically without incident.

Saturday night racing returns to 141 Speedway later this month on April 29th with the "Spring Fling" kickoff for the all five divisions (Hobby, Mini, Super, Mid-American Stock Car and Sport 4). New this year is a five o’clock start time for time trials with racing getting underway at 7pm as usual.

After the "Spring Fling", 141 will close for three weeks opening for the summer on Memorial Day weekend with a super double-header. Saturday night will be the regular race program with all five regular divisions on hand and Sunday another three hundred lap enduro race this time under the lights with a start time of 7pm!
